Entrepreneurship and small business has seen a resurgence in recent months. People out of work and laid off and not able to find employment have decided to try their hand at beginning a business. People are retiring and looking at starting a business that they always wanted to do.

Technology has provided entrepreneurs ways to do business like never before. Lighter more powerful computers and more mobile devices mean people can do business efficiently just about anywhere. The internet has allowed small businesses to be able to market their products and services to a wide audience of potential customers.

Google is looking into getting its services into this niche.  The company launched its Get Your Business Online tour a traveling forum featuring free workshops led by Google experts on creating websites and hands-on coaching in using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Places, and AdWords.  In addition it is partnering with Intuit and offering a year of free website hosting and, in some cases, $75 of free AdWords.  Events have been held in 24 cities nationwide.

Involvement with small businesses is vital the company's efforts to stay on top of online advertising, a major source of the company’s revenue in 2010. Consumers increasingly mobile devices to conduct searches and purchase items. Many businesses do not have websites and the company is offering a platform to provide services to help entrepreneurs conduct business easier. The company also has e-mail, calendar, word-processing, and video-chat applications that could help many small businesses succeed.
